It’s a very sad day. LeRoi Moore, the saxophone player from Dave Matthews Band, passed away yesterday at the young age of 46. He had been in an ATV accident in June and the complications from his injuries proved too much for Roi. The band decided not to cancel their performance at Staples Center last night and instead played in tribute and respect to their band mate. I was lucky to be there as it was both amazing, heartbreaking, and extremely touching. Here is a nice account of the evening. And two clips from the show. First, Dave telling a story of the first time he met LeRoi and second, the song that followed this tale, “Sister”, which was a very emotional part of the show.
