F*ck. Yeah. I love this band and always will. I went to their show at the Troubadour last night not knowing what to expect. The last time I saw these guys live was at the Wiltern and it was craaaaaazy. Craig could barely sing, he was rolling around on the ground, and he threw his guitar to the crowd saying “F it, I don’t want it, you can have it.” I know a lot of people hated that show, but I loved it. Total rockstars. Then when it was determined that Craig had Aspergers, I thought the band was gone for good. They released some live acoustic vids and he seemed medicated within an inch of his life. It seems that he has now found a happy medium (eerrr slighlty leaning towards the old Craig). He could sing last night. He didn’t roll around too much. But he did smash his guitar during the last song (”FTW”), throw a water bottle down to make it explode all over the stage and crowd and tear the drum kit apart. Very nice. Granted the show only lasted about 45 minutes, it was all I needed. They played a new song, which I thought was great, called “Braindead”. No videos are up yet from the Troub, but here is a video of the new track from Bowery in NY:
Also, here’s a video of “FTW” from that same show. No guitar smashing, but close:
As soon as I see some Troub videos, I’ll try to get them in here…
**UPDATE**
Here’s a really shaky mosh pit video of “FTW” from the show I was at. You really only need to watch the last minute…

I think I may have been standing right next to you, cool! I saw a couple people shooting video, so it should be up on YouTube in the next couple days. Also I think that was his redbull can that he threw on the ground.. it was all shaken up after he decided to bang it against his microphone, not sure why, but hey. Yeah good show, it seemed just long enough for me.
