Yay for The Weepies! They quietly put out this fantastic album in 2005 and now they are starting to reap the rewards. They are currently featured in TWO Christmas commercials. One for JC Penney and one for Old Navy. Hopefully the Old Navy one will help them as much as it did Ingrid Michaelson (hello, VH1 You Oughta Know?!).
“All That I Want” is in the Penney’s commercial (I don’t think hip music can make your store hip though, sorry guys). And the song can be found on the CD A Winter’s Night, featuring Christmas songs by various artists (Jack Johnson, Hem, and some other not so nice artists… on the naughty list if you will).

“Stars” pops up in the Old Navy commercial. This commercial features metallic jeans… wtf? And beat boxing over The Weepies?? WTF?? Seriously, Blake Lewis, get outta here… Anywho, this is a track off of the aforementioned 2005 album, Say I Am You.

yay for the weepies indeed. and yay for deb talan. if you like the weepies you will like deb talan. and if you only have time for one song…i very very strongly recommend “whetstones” on her album called “something burning.” amazing.
