Soooo… saw the Shins last night. Great show. Not as blown away as I thought I’d be, but I also realized I’m not the Shins fan I thought I was. I didn’t really know half the songs and my brother knew every single one. I didn’t know if they played any covers… apparently they played at least 2? So yeah, guess I suck. Loved the vocal harmonies on “New Slang” (no, I’m not a lame Garden State fan who only likes this song… they just put a cool spin on it). “Turn a Square” was nice and rocking… And the rocking part was cause for concern as well. I mean, the Shins aren’t chill out, think about your life, and almost fall asleep music. But they’re nto hard core rockers either. It was a little… interesting… to get used to. All in all, good show. Just wish they would have played this song…
