I may have found the coolest thing ever. I heard this on the radio once and had no idea what it was. I searched for Coldplay Latin and nothing came up. So I forgot about it for a few months. Then today, I read an interview with Nic Harcourt (host of Morning Becomes Eclectic on KCRW) and he talked about how he plays an eclectic mix of songs on his program. He cited that morning’s playlist which included, among many things, some Cuban remixes. A light went off in my head. This had to be the Coldplay remix I had heard! I searched for Coldplay Cuban, and sure enough, I found it! Turns out it’s Buena Vista Social Club playing the music (even better!) with the original lyrics on top. The album, Rhythms del Mundo Cuba, is available on iTunes (with Maroon 5, Jack Johnson and Sting mixes as well), but the Coldplay song is not. I couldn’t find a working link in Hype Machine either. Looks like if you want this song, you’re gonna have to do it the old fashioned way and buy the CD. Or you can watch a video I found on YouTube:

Hey, I was trying to download some coldplay the other day and when i got the search results i saw that one of the “clocks” versions was in a salsa remix. I downloaded it and i must say i was very happy with that version. I love the original, but this version was great. It takes nothing away from the original, but does add a little bit of spice to it with one out of the many contagious salsa rhythms that they added to it. Thanks for explaining who played this version and what album it came from, now i can enjoy songs that i like in English but with a rhythm i can feel…. Thanks!!!!
