"Again" by John Legend

I’ve been listening to this CD all day because someone gave it to me and I’m SO busy this week that I’m pretty much listening to a CD on repeat each day. So sad. Next week I’ll be music dictionary Lindsey again, I promise. Anyhow, I’m not blown away by this album, but it’s not terrible. I like the simplicity of this song. A lot of the other tracks sound like glorified elevator music in some parts. I like “Heaven” as well, but that may be largely due to the sample. And every time I hear “Show Me,” I swear it’s a John Mayer song at the beginning. Yes? Good one too… So if you’re on the fence about this one, you can come join me b/c I seem to be right there as well. I won’t hit next when this comes up on my iPod, but I most likely won’t be seeking it out either…

But who knows? I had kind of written off the John Mayer album initially. I thought it was really dull. That album is right after John Legend on my work iTunes, so I let it play through a few times today. I’m still not in love with the entire album, but I am with “I Don’t Trust Myself (With Loving You)” - which was my fave right off the bat and my love for it has only grown - and “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room.” That last one is the perfect breakup song. I mean I’m REALLY glad I’m not in that situation right now, but if I was I’d be rockin’ out to this one. Eh… cryin’ out.

“Hold on to whatever you find baby. Hold on to whatever will get you through.”
“Who do you love? Me or the thought of me?”
(See, he’s more than a pretty face. Actually, I don’t think you can call him pretty anymore with that hair. Good think you have wit and charm on your side Johnny May!)
