"Shake" by Drew Alexander

Yes, it’s pop. Yes, he looks like he’s 8. But if I’m gonna hear it on the radio, I at least want the teeny bopper music to have SOME substance. This kid was just signed to Geffen so I checked out his MySpace. From the picture and pop classification, I almost turned to run. But his music has a Postal Service edge, and a LOT of other influences as well. At least he’s not Jesse McCartney.

p.s. Please don’t stone me to death if this kid ends up being a huge sell out.

this kid is good. agreed. along with the postal service-like production (which should be attributed to Tommy Henriksen who also just signed to Geffen with a first look deal) he almost sounds like a more pop based Panic! at the disco. (my boss worked on drew and tommy’s deals)

Voice is good, but the lyrics…”In our memories we’ll live like Kings & Queens” to The West Coast is a graveyard where the sun falls each evening…” seem to have no relativity, but then I guess a lot of music doesn’t
