Sorry, but the blog had to go on hiatus for a few days. When DMB comes to town, everything in Lindsey-land shuts down. The show Friday night was pretty good. But Saturday in Chula Vista just blew Irvine out of the water. So many highlights: “Jimi Thing” (the band said it was their best performance of the song ever, and Dave did this awesome scat about talking to a girl at a bar), “Two Step” (The first time Robert Randolph has ever guested on it… and made it SO refreshing), “Little Thing” tease (wow), “Tripping Billies” encore, and of course this little gem: “Butterfly.” When I saw Dave come out solo to start the encore, I was a little surprised b/c he had played “Sister” the night before (the usual Dave solo song of this tour). When he busted out “Butterfly,” I think my jaw hit the ground. This song has been played six… times… EVER. And it’s beautiful. Definitely in my top ten shows (out of 23
so far…), maybe even top five. Wow. And now we continue with the Hollywood Bowl show tonight… Think they’ll bust out a little “Halloween”? Me either, but a girl can dream… Oh, and b/c they’re saving it for The Gorge this weekend ![]()
