I like this song???

Ok, let’s backtrack. I’ve heard this song on the radio a few times. So today when it came on Indie 103 and it clicked how much I do actually like it I went straight to Mediabase to find out what it was. It’s by Rilo Kiley? I totally thought I didn’t like this band. I deleted their album off of my iTunes b/c it was too country for me and I just didn’t get into it. Well… now… I’m definitely going home and adding it back in!

Has this happened to any of you? You just kind of pass over a band for a while and then are shocked when a song clicks with you. You go back and hear everything differently. Same thing happened to me with Death Cab. I hated them, but for no particular reason. I think it was my whole thing where I hate when bands become super buzzy with people who are TRYING to be indie (aka OC fans). But I heard “Soul Meets Body” and fell in love. I could go into all of the comparisons this has to situations outside of music (that a-ha moment in therapy, school, etc.) but I’ll skip the deepness and stick to what I know…. music… good music… And apparently, this is it.
