Ok, I take back anything bad I ever said about Capitol’s golden boy. And don’t you think the timing is perfect? It’s my last day here! Well, we were just sent his new video. I had heard the song before briefly, but this was my first time hearing it in full. Capitol’s having a shitty year and they’re counting on Chingy to bring them back. I’ve never really been a Chingy fan so I laughed a lot at this. His voice is just a little bit too gimmicky for my liking. And I still stick by that - this song would probably be a lot better with say, T.I. rapping it (whom I love… when I first heard him I remember saying “This guy is gonna be huge, he’s really good.”). However, it does pretty well the way it stands now. I mean, it samples SWV’s “Rain.” That alone is awesome (and probably the main reason why I like this song). Then it has Tyrese singing the hook. I LOVE Tyrese… and I’m not afraid to say it I bought his very first album and listened to it on repeat about a million times. He will always be great to me. Chingy is usually over the top and flashy. This song is a bit subdued for him… which is probably why I like it. I found the video on You Tube, so I’ll post it, but I’m guessing it’s gonna get pulled soon. Enjoy it while you can!
