The Legends album always brings back two awesome memories:

1. Back in high school, my brother and I took my Dad’s boat out to the middle of the lake, anchored it, and just laid out in the sun, listening to this album, reading magazines, relaxing ALL day, and eating table water crackers and boursin. One of my favorite summer memories.

2. Again, with my brother (we both love this album) at the Gorge for Dave in 2004. It was our first Gorge trip and we spent the first day lounging in chairs under a big umbrella, enjoying jello shots from passing hippies, and grilling up some mean burgers. Such fun times.

It was SO nice on my drive in to work today. I think the rain yesterday helped clear the smog earlier in the day so that it was sunnier in the a.m. So I drove with my windows down and this album playing. Not only did it make it really hard to come into work (where I have no windows), but it also made me wish that my dad still had his boat/lake… and wish even more that I was going to the Gorge this year. I’m breaking the tradition this year because I’m so poor. Buuuut, I’m starting to think maybe I should use some of my tax return to keep the dream alive… We’ll see. Ryg, call me to discuss…
